Why I Am Marching in Gay Pride As a Mormon

  1. You brought me to tears yet again.

    I know this is a little trite, but every journey starts with a single step. This may be the first of many steps, to be sure, but it IS a step! I know it will all turn out OK, and you will be OK. John, you are amazing!

  2. Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?
    ’Tis not so; all is right.
    Why should we think to earn a great reward
    If we now shun the fight?
    Gird up your loins; fresh courage take. Our God will never us forsake;
    And soon we’ll have this tale to tell—
    All is well! All is well!

    Be well, I am honored to have you in our Mormon family.

  3. THANK YOU, Bro. Winfield!

    I was telling some of my fellow marchers this past Saturday I would love to sing this at Pride on Sunday. Whenever we sing it at Church, I weep, because for me it is about my trek toward final reconciliation... I often wonder, will I die before my journey's through?

    Thank you, thank you!
